RSSOSA ’93 Set Hosts Aare EmmanuelKing to a Surprised 50th Birthday Party

In a heartwarming and historic show of affection and loyalty, the 88/93 Class Set of the Remo Secondary School Old Students Association (RSSOSA) staged a grand surprise birthday celebration in honor of their own, the National President of RSSOSA, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking.

The event, which took place at the prestigious Marriott Hotel, Lagos, was a spectacular and deeply emotional affair that left the celebrant overwhelmed and moved to tears. Unknown to Aare Adetola, the surprise had been meticulously planned since January of this year, in close collaboration with his wife, who kept the arrangements a secret until the big day.

The celebration was marked by an electrifying atmosphere of joy, laughter, and heartfelt emotions as classmates reunited to honor one of their own in grand style. The 88/93 Set spared no expense, presenting Aare Adetola with gifts worth several million naira.

Adding to the magic of the occasion, members of the 88/93 Set residing in the diaspora joined virtually from the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Notable among them were Segun Osho, Rev. Fr. Oshitimehin, Sade Odesanya, Akeem Elegbeji, Gboyega Solarin, Johnson Olumuyiwa Sanya, Tope Otunba, Semeton Amosu, Yemisi Olowu, Bukky Alli, Bunmi Ojutialayo, Bolaji Desalu, Wasiu Talabi, Azeez Awolaja, Jimmy Adetayo, and Bisoye Sholuade, whose heartfelt participation further heightened the emotional resonance of the event.

The success of the surprise was largely credited to the tireless efforts and leadership of the Class Set Governor, Engr. Bola Owolabi Oladeinde, whose commitment, coordination, and attention to detail ensured a seamless and unforgettable celebration.

In his heartfelt appreciation speech, a visibly emotional Aare Adetola expressed profound gratitude to every member of the class set, describing the surprise as one of the most touching and humbling experiences of his life.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that such an elaborate and deeply moving celebration awaited me,” he said. “You have honored me beyond words, and I am eternally grateful. May God bless and replenish each of you for your sacrifices, generosity, and steadfast love.

Aare Adetola appreciated his wife for her support and for keeping the surprise a secret with such admirable dedication.”

The event was a powerful reaffirmation of enduring friendship, unity, and loyalty. The 88/93 Set of RSSOSA once again demonstrated that true brotherhood and sisterhood only grow richer and deeper with time, setting a remarkable example for alumni associations everywhere.

NAOSNP Congratulates CP Tijani Fatai on Appointment, Assumption of Office

The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has congratulated the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, as he assumes office, extending hands of fellowship and camaraderie.

In a statement signed and issued by the National Public Relations Officer, the Association noted that Fatai’s appointment is a representation of a round peg in a round hole considering his level of experience, achievements and intelligence in policing.

“We, as an Association of top security reporters and publishers, saddled with the responsibility of objective reportage of national interest and society-based situations, felicitate with the new Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, on his appointment and resumption of office as the Lagos Police Chief.

“It is with deep sense of responsibility that we note that CP Fatai is a thoroughbred officer, with high level policing experience, capable of turning around the secerity and safety situation of Lagos State. We therefore, believe that his appointment, a typical example of a round peg in a round hole will bring about the desire change in policing and welfare of policemen,” the statement noted.

“We welcome the new CP, and pledge our continued collaboration with the Lagos Police Command under his leadership as he strive to make a success of this new calling,” the statement concluded.

Commending CP Fatai’s appointment, NAOSNP President, Mayor Samson Oki, noted that he is a man giving to details, honesty and integrity, adding that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear towards making policing and security the finest in the country.

“Lagos State is blessed to have CP Tijani Fatai at this time. He will not consolidate on greatness, but will deploy his wealth of experience, expertise and intelligence to ensure that the state is secured and safe.

CP Tijani Fatai, psc, is assuming office as the 42nd Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, taking over from CP Olohundare Jimoh, who served as the 41st Commissioner of Police, and had been seconded to Zone 2 Command as the substantive Assistant Inspector-General.

Fatai hails from Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State. He attended Anwar-ul-Islam College, Agege between 1979 and 1984. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Philosophy from Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

He enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 10 June 1994. Until his recent posting, he served as: Commissioner of Police, Eastern Port, Port Harcourt; Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Department of Operations, Maritime FHQ Annex Lagos and Lagos State Command Headquarters, Ikeja; Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Department of Finance & Administration, Zone 2 Command, Onikan Lagos, Area Commander Ilaro, Ogun State, Maiduguri Metro, Borno State, Area C, Surulere, Lagos State, Squadron Commander 5 PMF, Benin, Edo State and 17PMF Akure; Officer-in-Charge, Homicide Section, SCID, Lagos; Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ogere, Ogun State, Ijanikin and Alakara, Lagos State. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

His track record of leadership, professionalism, and dedication to duty underscores his preparedness to steer the affairs of the Lagos State Police Command effectively.

Hon Galadima Felicitates with Muslims on Eid al-Fitr, Calls for Unity

The Federal House of Representatives, AMAC/Bwari Constituency hopeful, Comrade Iliya Jatau Galadima, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across the constituency, the Federal Capital Territory, and Nigeria at large on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In his goodwill message, Galadima described Eid al-Fitr as a period of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, compassion, and renewed commitment to values that promote peace, unity, and social justice.

“Eid al-Fitr is not just a celebration, but a reminder of the virtues of patience, discipline, generosity, and love for humanity. These values are essential in building a stronger, more united society,” he stated.

The grassroots mobilizer and community development advocate urged residents of AMAC/Bwari Constituency to sustain the spirit of Ramadan by promoting peaceful coexistence, supporting one another, and contributing meaningfully to community growth and national development.

Galadima, who has built a reputation for youth engagement, advocacy, and humanitarian service, reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered leadership and inclusive governance. He emphasized that his aspiration is driven by a desire to give a voice to the people, particularly the underserved and marginalized.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), the leading philanthropy empowering young African entrepreneurs will announce the 12th cohort of the flagship TEF Entrepreneurship Programme on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

In 2026, the Foundation will empower a total of 3,200 entrepreneurs across all its entrepreneurship programmes:
1,751 entrepreneurs through Heirs Holdings Group: Heirs Energies, Transcorp Power, Transcorp Hotels, and United Capital; 1,049 entrepreneurs in partnership with the European Commission, OACPS, BMZ and GIZ; 100 entrepreneurs in partnership with Sèmè City Development Agency; 100 entrepreneurs in partnership with DEG, the German Development Agency; 100 entrepreneurs in partnership with the IKEA Foundation, UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited and the Dutch Government; and 100 entrepreneurs in partnership with UNDP and the Rwandan Ministry of Youth and Arts.

Applications to the flagship programme were received from over 265,000 young Africans, representing all 54 African countries, underscoring Africa’s vibrant entrepreneurial sector and the funding challenge for entrepreneurs. The new cohort will join the TEF Alumni community of more than 24,000 entrepreneurs.

The selection process is conducted by Ernst & Young, ensuring an independent and rigorous assessment of applicants.

Each selected Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur will receive $5,000 in non-refundable seed capital, access to world-class business management training on TEFConnect, one-on-one mentorship, and entry into a powerful network of investors, partners, and other entrepreneurs.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation has empowered over 2.5 million young Africans with access to business management training on our proprietary digital hub, TEFConnect, and disbursed over US$100 million in seed capital to more than 24,000 selected entrepreneurs. Collectively, these entrepreneurs have generated $4.2 billion in revenue and created more than 1.5 million direct and indirect jobs. Through our support for African entrepreneurs, TEF has lifted 2.1 million Africans above the poverty line, and positively impacted more than 4 million African households, with 46% of supported entrepreneurs being African women.
