Nigerian Movies Generated N7bn in Cinemas in 2019 – NVFCB

The National Film and Video Censors Board says Nigerian movies generated nearly between N6.4bn and N6.7bn at cinemas nationwide in 2019.

According to the body responsible for the regulation of movies in Nigeria, it was evident that the sector was going massively. The Executive Director, Adedayo Thomas, said this during an interview with The PUNCH on Sunday.

The box office generated almost N7bn in 2019. Between N6.4bn an N6.7bn was generated. But from information at our disposal, money generated from DVD sales may have been higher. This is because less than 20 percent of the population is watching cinema,” he said.

The Billionaire wives were recently spotted together aboard a private jet and Laila was one of the guests who graced Regina’s surprise baby shower.

Meanwhile, Regina’s ex-boyfriend, Somadina Adinma took to his Insta-story to congratulate his ex-girlfriend, on the birth of her child.

Reacting to the good news, Somadina congratulated the actress and tagged her to his post.

The actor wrote

“It’s a boy!! Congratulations Gina!! Proud of you.“

Regina Daniels’ brother broke the news on the photo-sharing app on Monday, stating that she has given birth to a bouncy baby boy for her husband, Ned Nwoko.

Burna Boy, Wizkid, Others Win Big at BET Awards 2020

The 20th edition of the BET Awards held yesterday via virtual media across the world due to COVID-19. The event was hosted by Amanda Seales and performers included Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Chloe X Halle, DaBaby, Jay Rock, Jennifer Hudson, Questlove, Nas, Usher, YG, and many more.

Nigerian superstars, Burna Boy and Wizkd went home with the Best International Act and BET HER Awards respectively. Sha Sha, the Zimbabwean act also won the Best New International Act Award.

The biggest winners on the night were Beyoncé, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Brown, Roddy Ricch, DJ Khaled, Nipsey Hussle and John Legend. The won two awards each.
