NSCDC Arrest 50 Armed Herders in Ekiti, Cross River, Borno

Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, has said operatives of the security outfit have arrested 50 armed herders.
The armed herders, he said, were arrested in different parts of the country, including Ekiti, Borno and Cross River states.
NAN reports that Audi spoke on Wednesday in Abuja while presenting licences to private guard operators.
He said: “We arrested 50 illegally armed herdsmen and realised that some of them are into cattle rustling and kidnapping.
“The armed herdsmen were arrested in Ekiti, Borno and Cross River states and in some other parts of the country.”
Audi said the arrest of the illegally armed herders, shortly after his assumption of office, was an indication of his determination to reposition the corps for optimal delivery on its core mandate.
“It is part of our mandate to settle disputes between herdsmen and farmers and to also give some security protection to our agro-allied investments,” he said.
Audi spoke on the need for synergy between security agencies, noting that the nation’s security challenges could only be addressed substantially through intelligence sharing.
He charged the private guard operators to ensure valuable contributions to ongoing efforts at checking rising insecurity.
“The nation is bedevilled with a very serious insecurity crisis, and that is the asymmetric warfare,” he said.
“If you want to deal decisively with this, you must synergise with all stakeholders in terms of credible intelligence.”
He warned that the licences of private guard operators would be withdrawn if they engage in unethical practices.

Oyo NUJ Lauds Adron Homes’ Contribution to Affordable Housing in Nigeria

The Press Week, slated for October 12th to 17th, 2025, in Ibadan, focuses on strengthening media engagement and celebrating excellence in journalism. The visit aimed to foster collaboration between the NUJ and Adron Homes in promoting public awareness of housing and real estate investment.
Led by the Oyo State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola, the delegation was warmly received by the Managing Director of Adron Group, Mrs. Adenike Ajobo, at the company’s head office in Omole, Lagos. In his address, Comrade Babalola lauded Adron Homes for its steadfast commitment to delivering affordable housing in Nigeria.
He described the company as a model of innovation and social impact, commending its role in improving the lives of Nigerian families through sustainable real estate solutions.
In her response, Mrs. Adenike Ajobo on behalf of the Chairman/CEO, Sir Adetola Emmanuelking, expressed deep appreciation to the Oyo NUJ for the visit and congratulated the council on its upcoming Press Week. 10 Die, 11 Injured in Obajana Road Accident As Corps Marshal Harps on Passenger-Vigilance

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has urged passengers to remain vigilant and proactive in cautioning or reporting drivers, who exhibit reckless behaviour behind the wheel.
He stated this, according to a statement made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), in the wake of a fatal road traffic crash that claimed 10 lives and left 11 others injured on Friday, 10th October 2025, at about 2330HRS, along the Obajana–Lokoja route, specifically at Apamaru.
The crash involved a white Toyota Hiace commercial bus with registration number KTG 100YL, which was conveying 21 male passengers at the time of the incident.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the FRSC crash investigation team revealed that the crash was caused by speed violation (SPV) and wrongful overtaking (WOV) on the part of the driver, who lost control of the vehicle while on a night journey.
Out of the 21 persons involved, 10 were killed on the spot, while 11 sustained varying degrees of injuries, including deep cuts, fractures, and bruises. The injured victims were evacuated to Fisayo Hospital, Obajana, while the remains of the deceased were handed over to their families and taken to Sarikin Hausawa, Obajana, for burial in line with Islamic rites.
The Corps Marshal, while expressing grief over the incident, warned that night travels, excessive speeding, and wrongful overtaking continue to be major causes of fatal road crashes in Nigeria. He therefore called on commercial vehicle operators to adhere strictly to road safety regulations, emphasising that the Corps will intensify its enforcement on Overloading and advocacy to discourage Night Journey across critical corridors in Nigeria.
He further implores passengers to speak out and caution drivers whose actions endanger lives, noting that silence in the face of recklessness is complicity in tragedy.
To this end, the Corps therefore calls on all road users to embrace a culture of safety and responsibility, reminding the entire community of the motoring public that road safety is a shared responsibility, and members of the public are urged to promptly report reckless drivers by dialing the FRSC toll free number 122 or report to the nearest FRSC patrol team or any security agency on that route.

The preceding blueprints for each tier, while distinct in their application, are designed to interlock. The true, transformative potential of this framework is realized not in their isolated implementation, but in their powerful, synergistic convergence. This interaction creates a virtuous cycle—a self-reinforcing ecosystem of escalating impact where progress at one level catalyzes and accelerates progress at all others. This is the mechanism through which abstract purpose is translated into tangible, systemic reality, transforming isolated sparks of intent into a self-sustaining fire of collective progress.
The Virtuous Cycle in Motion: A Synergistic Network of Progress

They leverage their substantial influence not to lobby for deregulation, but for stable, forward-thinking public policies that create a level playing field, rewarding high environmental and social standards. A consortium of businesses advocating for a carbon tax is a powerful example of this principle. Furthermore, these corporations attract, develop, and retain the most talented and conscious individuals, creating a virtuous talent cycle that further embeds legacy into the corporate DNA. Their scale, resources, and operational expertise allow them to take the innovative ideas born from individual architects and scale them to a level of global impact that no individual could achieve alone.
· The Nation as the Enabling Environment and Ultimate Steward: Farsighted nations provide the foundational bedrock upon which all else is built. Through legacy-focused education that teaches systems thinking and ethical citizenship, through investments in resilient digital and physical infrastructure, and through the establishment of long-term policy stability, they create the fertile ground that empowers individuals to thrive and enables corporations to invest confidently in sustainable innovation. A nation that prioritizes intergenerational equity—by protecting environmental assets, funding basic research, and maintaining social safety nets—directly mitigates systemic risks, ensuring the long-term viability and prosperity of the businesses and citizens within its borders.

The individual’s clarified purpose is amplified by the corporation’s platform, which is, in turn, empowered and stabilized by the nation’s strategic foresight. The Call to Action: Laying Your Stone in the Cathedral of the Future
The construction of a legacy that scales is the most critical and defining project of our personal and collective lives. But, your solemn and non-negotiable responsibility is to ensure that the stones you do lay are perfectly true and square, that the foundation you build upon is unshakably solid, and that the blueprint you follow—etched with the principles of integrity, compassion, and radical foresight—is so clear that those who follow can continue the work with confidence.
The Architect’s Mandate: From Blueprint to Groundbreaking
Therefore, the call to action is clear, urgent, and directed at every level of influence. It is a mandate to move from admiration of the blueprint to the disciplined noise of groundbreaking.
1. For the Individual: Embody the Blueprint. Your journey must not end with the audit; that is merely the moment you first pick up the architect’s pen. Now, you must move from introspection to intentional execution. Define your strategic impact portfolio with clear, measurable projects. Curate your knowledge ecosystem by mentoring, publishing, and sharing your insights freely. Form your first impact coalition around a challenge you are passionate about. You must become a living prototype of the change you wish to see, ensuring that your daily actions and decisions are the first, perfectly laid stones in a lasting edifice that will shelter generations to come.
2. For the Corporate Leader: Operationalize Legacy. It is time to transcend the peripheral CSR program and the compliance-driven ESG report. Convene your board and leadership team to conduct a courageous and unflinching audit of your corporate soul. Ask the difficult questions about your purpose and realign your financial and operational incentive structures to tangibly reward legacy-driven leadership and innovation. Embed radical transparency and a genuine stakeholder capitalism model into the very core of your corporate governance. Have the courage to build not just a profitable company, but a regenerative enterprise that actively measures its success by the health and vitality of the society and environment upon which its future depends.
3. For the Policymaker and the Engaged Citizen: Steward the Future. In the public sphere, we must collectively advocate for a new scorecard of progress. Champion the development and adoption of a national legacy dashboard that moves beyond the archaic and misleading metric of GDP. Lobby for the establishment of independent, non-partisan institutions, such as a Future Generations Commission or an Office for Intergenerational Responsibility, legally empowered to safeguard long-term interests against short-term political pressures. Demand and support comprehensive educational reform that cultivates the values and critical thinking skills required for “legacy citizenship.” Ultimately, we must hold our leaders—and ourselves—accountable not for the simplistic promises of the next election cycle, but for the enduring prospects and security of the next generation.
The defining question for us all—as individuals, as leaders of institutions, and as citizens of nations—must be this:
“Does the system I am building, influencing, or upholding today possess the structural integrity, adaptive resilience, and moral clarity to endure, to thrive, and to provide sanctuary and opportunity for those who will come long after I am gone?”
