Oba of Oniru, NLRC, NCC Commend Globacom for Rewarding Customers

Leading telecommunications brand, Globacom, on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, received glowing commendations from several stakeholders including the Oniru of Iru/Victoria Island, His Royal Majesty, Oba Gbolahan Lawal for its ongoing customer reward promo- Festival of Joy.
The traditional ruler, who was at the Adeola Odeku Gloworld to present the key of a brand new car to the winner in the ongoing Glo Festival of Joy promo, commended Dr. Mike Adenuga for the several rewarding initiatives he has introduced and sustained in the telecoms space in Nigeria, adding that many people have, over the years been opportune to win big prizes from Globacom just for using the company’s services.
“It is a good thing the company is doing today to reward its subscribers with such amazing prizes such as houses and brand new cars now”, Oba Oniru said.
The highly coveted brand-new car prize was won by Lagos-based businesswoman, Vivian Nkiruka Chukwuleke. She recalled her initial skepticism when Glo officials called to inform her that she had won a brand new Kia car in the Festival of Joy promotion.
“I first got a call from someone who introduced herself as a Glo official and said she was calling from the venue of the draw and that I had won a car. I was scared at first, knowing that scammers could also be trying to con me. But when I was told to take my documents to the Gloworld nearest to me, I knew that I had actually won the car”, she said, adding that the car from Globacom become a fulfillment of a prayer her pastor prayed for her a few months ago that something big was coming her way.
In his remark at the presentation ceremony, Assistant Director of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Moses Iyi, said the promo was sanctioned by the regulatory body and that the NCC has been monitoring the processes to ensure that subscribers are adequately rewarded. “It is not a jamboree, it is not fake, it is real as it was approved by the government. If you have won anything, you are sure to get your prize you can be rest assured”, he disclosed.
Equally, the Head of Legal Services of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Gloria Ireka, Head, Legal Services at the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) said the commission has been monitoring the processes of the draws and presentations by Globacom and commended the company for being faithful all along. “All I want to do is encourage them to keep it up,” she advised.

Tinubu Appoints Cardoso As New CBN Governor

President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso to serve as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
This directive, according to a statement signed Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on media, is in conformity with Section 8 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which vests in the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the authority to appoint the Governor and Four (4) Deputy Governors for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), subject to confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Furthermore, President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of four new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate, as listed below:
(1) Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro
(2) Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo
(3) Mr. Philip Ikeazor
(4) Dr. Bala M. Bello

FirstBank Enhances FirstEdu Loan Solution for Quality Education

FirstBank has announced that its FirstEdu product designed to put schools at an advantage in the financing of capital projects such as the acquisition of new property, school expansion and reconstruction has been remodeled to a period of up to a maximum tenor of 48 months.
Since its launch in 2018, the FirstEdu loan has promoted the continued improvement of schools whilst putting them at an advantage in meeting their mid and long-term goals. These goals include the expansion of the school through the acquisition of landed properties, purchase of school bus, modern educational facilities, tools and equipment to optimize the day-to-day operations of the school.
