Tinubu Removes Biu, Appoints Shehu Mohammed As New FRSC Corps Marshal
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shehu Mohammed as the corps marshal and the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
Mohammed replaces Dauda Ali Biu.
In a statement on Wednesday, Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), announced the appointment.
In a letter of appointment signed by the SGF, Senator George Akume, Mohammed’s tenure is for the initial period of four years.

Amaka Onwughalu Heads Fidelity Bank Board As Chike Obi Bows Out
Fidelity Bank Plc, on Friday, announced the appointment of Amaka Onwughalu as the new Chairman of the Board, effective January 1, 2026, following the completion of the tenure of Mustafa Chike-Obi on December 31, 2025.
The Board transitions are in alignment with the Bank’s policy and have been communicated to the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigerian Exchange Group, and other stakeholders.
Under Chike-Obi’s leadership, Fidelity Bank repaid its Eurobond, completed the first tranche of its public offer and rights issue that were oversubscribed by 237% and 137.73%, respectively, expanded internationally to the United Kingdom, and received improved ratings from various agencies amongst a long list of achievements.
His tenure also saw the Bank strengthen its capital position, record steady growth in customer deposits and total assets, deepen its digital banking capabilities, and enhance its corporate and investment banking proposition. The bank equally made notable progress in governance, risk management, and operational efficiency, all of which contributed to strengthened market confidence and the Bank’s sustained upward performance trajectory.
Reflecting on his tenure, Mustafa Chike-Obi said: “It has been a privilege to serve as Chairman of Fidelity Bank. Amaka Onwughalu’s appointment marks a new chapter for Fidelity Bank. She joined the Board in December 2020 and has chaired key committees. With over 30 years of banking experience, including executive roles at Mainstreet Bank Limited and Skye Bank PLC. She holds degrees in Economics, Corporate Governance, and Business Administration, and has attended executive programmes at global institutions. Onwughalu is a Fellow of several professional bodies and has received awards for accountability and financial management.

Aftermath of Obi’s Defection: Aisha Yesufu Vows to Officially Joins ADC
Co-convener of BringBackOurGirls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, has declared her readiness to become a card-carrying member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The activist said this on Wednesday, hours after Peter Obi defected from the Labour Party to the ADC in Enugu.
She called on well-meaning Nigerians to come together in unity to salvage the country come 2027 general elections.
“I have never been a card-carrying member of any political party, but I will be a card-carrying member of the ADC.
“Enough is enough. There’s no more time for us to keep shedding tears. We have cried too much.
“From this moment going forward, we will fight for Nigeria. We will have a great nation.
“ADC will take Nigeria to a point where the son-of-a-nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody,” she said.
