Abbey Mortgage Holds Charity Walk to Promote Autism Awareness in Nigeria

Abbey Mortgage Bank, a leading institution in the African Mortgage industry on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 staged a walk to promote autism awareness and emphasize the importance of understanding and supporting individuals with such disorder.
This year’s programme themed “Abbey Walk for Autism Awareness” saw Abbey bankers, led by their MD/CEO Mobolaji Adewumi, stage a charity walk from the bank’s head office on Karimu Kotun to Falomo Bridge Ikoyi, through Alfred Rewane road, before returning to the office.
The “Abbey Walk for Autism Awareness” commemorated Autism Awareness Month, usually held in April, themed, ‘Aligning SDGs with Autism: Empowerment, Challenges and Victories’, to create awareness and sensitize Nigerians on the disorder to champion equal opportunities and freedom for persons with the disorder.
Speaking during the autism awareness walk, The MD/CEO of Abbey Mortgage Bank, Mr. Mobolaji Adewumi noted, “At Abbey Mortgage Bank, we believe in not only building dreams through our mortgage and financial services but also in supporting causes that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Autism awareness is an issue close to our hearts, and we are proud to champion this cause and spread awareness in our community.”
Mobolaji further noted that” Autism is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder that affects millions worldwide and despite its prevalence, awareness, and understanding, it remains limited in many communities.
 “Abbey Mortgage Bank recognizes the significance of raising awareness about this important issue, understanding that education and support are crucial in improving the lives of individuals and families affected by autism”. He noted.
The Abbey Walk was part of the bank’s 32nd-anniversary commemorations, showing Abbey Mortgage Bank’s commitment to not only facilitating dreams through financial solutions but also supporting and spreading awareness for important causes.
As the bank continues to grow over the years, it remains dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and communities, while championing causes that matter.

Access Bank Issues Disclaimer, Says Shutdown Notice False, Misleading

Access Bank Plc has said that a social media post announcing a shutdown of the bank’s operations, is false and misleading.

In a statement signed by the bank’s management, and made available to the media, the Bank insisted that the notice is the handiwork of mischief makers, who impersonated the bank’s official handle.

It advised members of the public to disregard the notice, and pay attention only to verified information from the verified accounts of the bank.

Below is the full statement:

“A message impersonating Access Bank’s official handle is currently circulating on social media and WhatsApp. It is false and misleading.

“We wish to reassure our customers, partners, stakeholders, and the public that Access Bank is safe, financially strong, and fully operational across all our subsidiaries. Our services continue to run seamlessly, and we remain committed to serving our customers with the highest standards of excellence.

“We are working closely with the relevant regulatory and law enforcement authorities to identify those responsible for creating and spreading this false information to cause panic and business disruption. Appropriate legal action will be taken in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

“We also remind members of the public that creating, publishing, and disseminating false information capable of causing public alarm, damaging reputations, or undermining confidence in institutions constitutes an offence under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2024.

“If you receive a false and misleading message, please do not share or forward it. Instead, disregard it and rely only on information communicated through Access Bank’s official and verified channels.

“We thank our customers, partners, and stakeholders for their continued trust and confidence in Access Bank.”
